Hi, I’m Renée.

I am a young photographer based in Annapolis, Maryland. I’m a girl who loves to spend time with her family and friends, travel, dance, and eat way too much dessert. My love for portrait photography began about 4 years ago and has blossomed into–well… sort of an obsession. I am captivated by life in all its beautiful qualities and am thrilled that I am able to capture moments that can be cherished for a lifetime. My approach to photography is simple– to create unique, beautiful and sincere images of my subjects and of course have fun doing it! I am pursuing my dream of becoming a professional portrait photographer and this blog is just the start! I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.                                                                                                                                      photo credit: Krysta Howell Photography

Afternoon walk by the bay

My brother, sister-in-law, and niece came over today and after eating some fish tacos(YUM) that my mother made, we decided to go for a walk up to the water. I grabbed my camera and ended up taking quite a few photos…can you blame me?! SHE IS SO CUTE!!!! anyways, I thought I would share…hope you enjoy them as much as i do!

Stacie and Paco: Engaged!

Stacie and Paco!! What a great couple…they are so full of life and love for each other. I am so lucky that I was able to document this time in their lives! It was a wonderful afternoon the day of our session and we took full advantage of it by walking by the water and around the streets of downtown Annapolis. We even did some salsa dancing :) We finished up the day at El Torro Bravo, a fantastic mexican restaurant in downtown, where Stacie and Paco are regulars. We enjoyed some tasty food and margaritas (excluding me ha) and all in all had a great time! Thank you so much Stacie and Paco…and I wish you all the best as you continue to get ready for your wedding!

bokeh lovin’

I came across this camera technique called free lensing…It’s where you take a photo with the lens detached from your camera and essentially hold it up in front and tilt the lens for different effects. It makes pictures have very soft focus (bokeh). I took some of these shots today…and it was super exciting to see the results.

Jasmine Star: The Fix

A couple of weeks ago I attended The Fix workshop with my beautiful and talented friend, who also happens to be a photog. The Fix was a photography workshop focusing on identifying weaknesses in your business, maximizing entrepreneurial strengths, and getting out of your comfort zone by making friends and creating meaningful connections. I have followed Jasmine Star’s blog for 4 years now so meeting her was really special…and also sort of weird. ha ha its odd to know so much about a person and they not even know your name…ohh the internet! Meeting Jasmine in person definitely exceeded my expectations of what I already knew about her…She really does have a magnetic personality and is so easy to relate to! If you haven’t read her blog before..you should..she is hilarious. All in all it was a great night filled with lots of inspiration for my business and future ventures in the photography field. Here are some of the photos!

Jasmine’s husband/second shooter: JD

Polo!!! Jasmine and JD’s adorable dog…we were walking to the metro at the end of the night and spotted him sitting in the drivers seat in the tour bus!

Jean at the bay

Today, Jean came over to my neck of the woods and we had a lovely time shooting by the water. She was nice enough to come and model for me in the cold weather and obviously was a great at it…isn’t she gorgeous?! It was an overcast and grey sort of day… but, we made the best of it!

Jean, it was so great catching up with you.. hope you enjoy the photos!

My stunning sister at sunrise

I’M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS POST. My wonderful sister, Jaclyn was kind enough to be a model for our friend Krysta and I for a shoot at sunrise. It was SO COLD and about 7AM in the morning so thank you for being such a great sport. Krysta and I were in photography heaven with the beautiful golden light from the sunrise and such a beautiful model! so enjoy! we sure did.

Quick warm-up in the car and outfit change!

My beautiful friend, Krysta <3

My gorgeous bff Krysta and I are both photographers, and we usually never venture in front of the camera. Yesterday, we finally changed that so we could get some updated pictures of ourselves and just to have some fun. It was EXTREMELY cold…but we braved the weather so we could get some nice portraits of each other. Hope you enjoy them!!

Annie Headshots

Annie has been a friend of mine since 4th grade at Camp Kittimaquundi…. I can’t believe we have known each other for so long! Anyways, she contacted me so she could get some head shots since she is minoring in acting at William & Mary. I was more than willing to help out and couldn’t wait to spend some time together. We walked around downtown Annapolis and then grabbed some coffee at 49 west. We had such a fun time catching up. Thank you Annie for driving all the way from Virginia! here are some shots from the day.

Christmas Cats

I just got two little kittens a couple weeks ago, named Fiona and Rascal. THEY ARE THE CUTEST THINGS ALIVE. I love them so much and I couldn’t resist snapping some shots of them playing in the Christmas tree!

Maureen and Curt Married!

Maureen and Curt are the cutest couple. They have such a great relationship filled with lots of laughter and love. I have known Maureen’s family for many years and I was so happy I could be a part of their celebration. Their wedding day started at St. John the Baptist in Silver Spring and the reception followed at St. Francis Hall, at the Franciscan Monastery in Washington DC. We walked around the gardens for portraits and I couldn’t of asked for a better back drop!

Maureen and Curt: I wish you all the best! I hope you enjoy the photos!

-special thanks to my sister Jaclyn for being my assistant :)
