Afternoon walk by the bay

My brother, sister-in-law, and niece came over today and after eating some fish tacos(YUM) that my mother made, we decided to go for a walk up to the water. I grabbed my camera and ended up taking quite a few photos…can you blame me?! SHE IS SO CUTE!!!! anyways, I thought I would share…hope you enjoy them as much as i do!

Stacie and Paco: Engaged!

Stacie and Paco!! What a great couple…they are so full of life and love for each other. I am so lucky that I was able to document this time in their lives! It was a wonderful afternoon the day of our session and we took full advantage of it by walking by the water and around the streets of downtown Annapolis. We even did some salsa dancing :) We finished up the day at El Torro Bravo, a fantastic mexican restaurant in downtown, where Stacie and Paco are regulars. We enjoyed some tasty food and margaritas (excluding me ha) and all in all had a great time! Thank you so much Stacie and Paco…and I wish you all the best as you continue to get ready for your wedding!

bokeh lovin’

I came across this camera technique called free lensing…It’s where you take a photo with the lens detached from your camera and essentially hold it up in front and tilt the lens for different effects. It makes pictures have very soft focus (bokeh). I took some of these shots today…and it was super exciting to see the results.

Brian + Brittany

A few weeks ago I met up with one of my sisters friends and his sister for a shoot. They wanted it for their mothers christmas present and it ended up being very sweet…She was very thankful and even cried she loved them so much! :)

Enjoy!

Fashion Bridal Shoot

Awhile ago I met up with some other local wedding photographers with Jaime. We went to Virginia to have a little fashion bridal shoot for fun. We had two models and it was a blast working with them. Here are a few I got from the day:

Family Session

I did my first family session in Annapolis, MD a few weeks ago. It was a blast being a photog + dancing and making silly faces to make the baby laugh :) James was so sweet and it was truly a pleasure to meet his parents. I love family sessions!

Mommy Bloggers

A while ago I took a field trip with my mentor and went down to Annapolis for a quick shoot with mary mccarthy + jennifer gerlock- for maryland life magazine! The article spotlighted moms who blog + tweet. They were fantastically sassy and hilarious and I had a ton of fun talking with them!

Senior Portraits

My friend Gina agreed to be a model for a session with my mentor and I. She actually ended up using them for her senior portraits even though she had already gotten them done :) We had a fun time working with her, and its not hard to get a good picture with someone so darn cute! ;)

Gina + Renee

Hi, I’m Renée.

I am a young photographer based in Annapolis, Maryland. I’m a girl who loves to spend time with her family and friends, travel, dance, and eat way too much dessert. My love for portrait photography began about 4 years ago and has blossomed into–well… sort of an obsession. I am captivated by life in all its beautiful qualities and am thrilled that I am able to capture moments that can be cherished for a lifetime. My approach to photography is simple– to create unique, beautiful and sincere images of my subjects and of course have fun doing it! I am pursuing my dream of becoming a professional portrait photographer and this blog is just the start! I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.                                                                                                                                      photo credit: Krysta Howell Photography
